......Life Goes On...........

So what was supposed to be a 20 minute trip to taxi my teenagers around turned out to be a 4 hour adventure. It all started out innocent enough.......Jason needed to be at church by 2 pm and Daniel wanted a haircut before he had to be at church at 4:30 pm and my husband needed lunch (he was too ill to fix his own). No problem I thought.......I preheated the oven and started defrosting a hamburger patty and off we went. I safely delivered Jason to church and dropped Daniel at the hair place with enough cash to pay for his haircut and instructions to walk home and proceeded to take the back road home so I could fix my husband's lunch.....and then it happened.......I GOT A FLAT TIRE !! Not just a slow leak ......a flatter than a pancake flat! I have to take credit for the fact that a few days ago, I saw something funny on my tire that I forgot to tell my husband about.......and that's exactly where the tire blew. So I called my husband to rescue me. As sick as he was, he loaded our two younger children in his car and came to my rescue. By the time he got to me, it was time to pick up Jason from church and Daniel had no key to get into the house. So before we could deal with the tire situation......we went to the hair place and told Daniel to finish up and walk towards where the van was and then we went to the church and told Jason to walk home with his friend (the civic was full). Then we went back to the van to change a flat. Due to Scott's Fibromyalgia and added medication reaction that he's still fighting ( that's a whole other chapter), he didn't have the strength or energy to do it. Dan still hadn't met up with us ......so Scott was off to find our strong teenage son who we depend on alot. Meanwhile.......a good samaritan came by and put on the spare tire for me. By the time Scott got back with Dan.....the good samaritan was almost done. The flat tire was so bad that we had to replace it......which of course means two new tires......so now Costco was on our to do list for the day. So we took Daniel home and left the two younger children with him.......he found a ride to church.......and we went to pick up Jason and take him home to babysit his younger siblings. Then off to Costco for date night !

Today's adventure made me thankful for cell phones, good samaritans, one last check in the checkbook, new tires and a husband that will come to my rescue no matter how badly he feels.
